This large
association situated in the foothills of San Jose
was surrounded by sound walls that also functioned as retaining walls. Many of these walls were
cracked and
efflorescing. Some
were leaning in a
disconcerting manner. We
inspected the walls,
determined that the walls could be repaired in-place without replacing
them,
and identified excess watering in specific yards that weakened the
soils and
allowed individual walls to lean.
