When the State of California passed the Soft Story / Seismic Retrofit Bill (AB 304), Woodlake Association hired us to evaluate the seismic safety of their 4 and 5 story dwelling over garage buildings.  We analyzed the risk of collapse & damage for maximum credible earthquake levels from neighboring faults, designed a seismic retrofit to prevent this damage, prepared a cost estimate for this retrofit, and compared the risk and cost.
